SoundBeat is a music licensing subscription for creators and businesses — stream and download rights-cleared music for your videos, podcasts, stores and venues, all covered by one monthly plan.

How to cancel your music society licence

If your venue only plays SoundBeat music covered by our rights, you may no longer need a separate music society licence.

  1. 1

    Play only covered SoundBeat music

This only applies if you stop playing radio, TV, Spotify or other music in the venue. Any other music still needs a society licence.

  2. 2

    Find your society

Sweden: STIM and SAMI (often via Musiklicens). UK: PPL PRS. US: ASCAP, BMI, SESAC and GMR. Germany: GEMA. Other countries have their own.

  3. 3

    Send your notice

Contact the society in writing, state that you've switched to a directly licensed music service and ask about notice periods.

  4. 4

    Keep your certificate

Download your SoundBeat store licence certificate from Radio and keep it available as proof.

This is general guidance, not legal advice. Rules and notice periods differ by country and society — check your own agreement.
